Guarding the Interests of Children Charged With Delinquency

In Georgia, someone under the age of 17 accused of a crime, whether an adult crime or a juvenile offense like runaway status or truancy, will generally be charged as a juvenile and brought into the juvenile court system. This system is different from the adult criminal justice system. I have the experience to help clients with juvenile delinquency charges.

Unlike an adult criminal court, the juvenile court's role is to pursue the best interests of the minor defendant. My goal as a lawyer is to keep the judge's attention focused on what will help my clients make the most of their lives in the future.

Helping Children and Families in Deprivation Cases

If the juvenile court determines that a child is being treated with cruelty, neglect or another form of deprivation, the court can order services or supervision. This may entail supervision to be provided in the child's home, removing the child from the home and place him or her with Child Protective Services, or even order permanent termination of parental rights.
